Coronavirus – Covid 19

Important Statement – Dymchurch Royal British Legion Club Ltd

**UPDATED 20 March 2020 18:18**

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Following the Government's announcement that all bars, pubs, and clubs must shut from tonight happy hour will continue all evening tonight.

The meeting for the Isle of Wight trip will still be happening at 12.30 tomorrow to begin the refund process.

Following this, the club will remain closed until the Government advise otherwise. We will update via Facebook as circumstances develop.

Many thanks for your understanding

Dear Members,

Dymchurch Royal British Legion Club’s priority at this turbulent time is the safeguarding of its members and staff.
As per the recommendations of the Government, vulnerable persons and those of a certain age (70 years or over), those with underlying medical conditions and those that live with vulnerable persons are advised to use caution and common sense in deciding when and if to frequent busy social areas. You will be aware of self-isolation and social distancing advice and should take this advice if you are in any doubt.

At present, there is currently little evidence to suggest that people who are without symptoms are infectious to others but this may change.

Members and guests can be assured that the Club is doing everything to limit the spread of the Coronavirus, including sanitising and additional cleaning of all hard surfaces.

Members and guests are encouraged to “help us help themselves” by undertaking regular and thorough hand washing, in particular after using the toilet facilities, and after eating.

We also ask members and guests NOT to visit the Club if you have Coronavirus, ‘flu or cold-type symptoms or have had contact with persons with any of those symptoms; self-isolation should be your priority to protect yourself, others and members of vulnerable and high risk groups as per Government guidelines. In this regard the Club, its officers and staff strictly reserve the right to refuse admission to any members or guests who are or appear to be unwell and showing the symptoms referred to above. The Club and Committee accept no liability for any injury or disease, contracted or alleged to have been contracted, on Club premises except as may be limited by English law.

The Club will remain open but a shift in Government advice is likely to mean that this will change very quickly and therefore bands, bingo, Ace Music Club, Open Mic and quiz nights have been suspended for a period of four weeks after the forthcoming weekend.

This statement is subject to rapid change on receipt of new information, news or suggested courses of action or legal directive either by Government, World Health Organisation or the Royal British Legion offices.

Chairman.
